Monday, Nov 23, 2009 8:00 PM EST
at Glenn Gould Studio
in Toronto, ON
An Evening with Tony Award Winning Composer Jason Robert Brown
and the Caucasian Rhythm Kings
with The Toronto Youth Music Theatre Company Choir and Special Guests
“Jason Robert Brown rocked the walls of the Glenn Gould Studio with a performance so filled with energy, guts and emotion that to say the audience was blown away would be an understatement. Brown is the composer-lyricist of such first-rate musicals as The Last Five Years and Parade, but he’s also a pianist of rare skill and a vocalist who possesses a uniquely persuasive way with a song. Add stage patter that is free of all tiresome shtick and you have an incredibly winning combination. Watching Brown at the keyboard is an astonishing experience.” Richard Ouzounian, The Toronto Star, October 17, 2006
TONY AWARD-WINNER JASON ROBERT BROWN returns to the Glenn Gould Studio in the CBC Broadcasting Centre, 250 Front Street West. Backed by his band the Caucasian Rhythm Kings, the evening will feature songs from his award winning and internationally performed musicals SONGS FOR A NEW WORLD, PARADE, LAST FIVE YEARS, and 13, his solo album Wearing Someone Else’s Clothes and some new material. Brown will be joined by students from the Toronto Youth Music Theatre Company and some special guests to be announced.
