Bullets fly, swords are drawn and enemies slashed in John Woo’s longtime collaborator David Wu’s historical film that recalls the energy and glory of classic 1980s Hong Kong action films. Starring Tony Leung Ka Fai.
Director David Wu Tai-wai will hold a master class on Friday, Nov 9 (1:00 PM-2:30 PM) as part of Reel Asian's 7th annual Industry Series. The master class is free and open to the public, and will take place at our Industry Series Hub, No One Writes To The Colonel (460 College St). Respected cineaste and film programmer Colin Geddes (Midnight Madness, Toronto International Film Festival) will join Director Wu and the class is moderated by film critic Alice Shih (Fairchild Radio).
Director Wu will also participate in the Co-Productions: Asia & North America panel on Saturday, Nov 10 (4:30 PM-6:00 PM). The panel is open to Industry Series Pass and Festival Pass holders only and will be held at the Art Gallery of Ontario's Jackman Hall.
Director Wu has kindly agreed to appear as a special guest juror at the live finale of Reel Asian's annual So You Think You Can Pitch? competition, on Sunday, Nov 11 (11:00 AM-12:30 PM). The live finale is free and open to the public and will take place at The Royal.
