Vocal jazz legend Sheila Jordan conducts an 4 hr intensive vocal jazz workshop on Sun, Feb 15, 2009 from 1-5pm at Art of Jazz Studio, 55 Mill St, Studio 202. Piano virtuoso, Dave Restivo will be joining Sheila. Workshop tickets are *$60 for participants and *$30 for audience seating.

Sheila is also performing 2 intimate Valentine's Day shows on Feb 14th, 2009 at Chalkers Pub, 247 Marlee Avenue. Concert tickets are *$25 each per show with first seating from 2-4pm then from 6-8pm.

Sheila Jordan is a highly respected jazz educator who has mentored thousands of students over the past 30 years. She's a headlining performer and teacher in Toronto at the annual Art of Jazz Celebration who began teaching at the City College of New York in 1978, current faculty member of "Jazz in July" at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst and a visiting professor at Stanford University.

Thanks to her extensive knowledge of the jazz idiom, many years of experience as a performer and a personality that can be described as gracious, selfless and sensitive, she is an ideal teacher for aspiring jazz singers of all levels.

Workshop topics may include improvisation, vocal technique, methods of practice, repertoire choices & proper lead sheets. The audience will include participants who will have the opportunity to receive Sheila's feedback on their singing while general seated audience members will learn through observation.
