Winner of the 2017 Japanese Movie Critics' Award for Best Animation. The moving story of Shoya, a school bully, and Shoko, a young girl with a hearing disability. In sixth grade Shoko transfers to Shoya's school and soon finds herself picked on. Years later Shoya, tormented over his past, decides he must see Shoko once more to make amends for what he did in elementary school and be Shoko's friend. Naoko Yamada’s deeply humane and visually gorgeous coming-of-age tale depicts the struggles and challenges of adolescence. Based on the manga by Yoshitoki Oima.
