    Zoe Sky Jordan

    Adult Alternative

Zoe Sky Jordan is a Canadian alt-pop artist who splits her time between Toronto and Nashville’s budding pop scene. Her newest album ‘TOPIARY’ tells women's stories in an everyday way. It's about forgiveness, jealously, regret, self-love and friendship. The first music video off TOPIARY, called ‘Powerlines’ was Staff Picked by Vimeo and won a CSC Award for Best Cinematography in Music Video. Zoe was chosen as one of BlogTO’s 10 Acts to Break-Out in 2017 and her single ‘Smoke’ topped charts on Canadian Radio and U.S. College Radio. Her soft, understated singing style has been a natural fit for film and T.V. and has been placed in shows such as Lost Girl, Less Than Kind, Cracked, Chasing Carter and Degrassi:TNG and Switched at Birth.

Stay tuned for new music coming early 2018.

  • The Faceplants

    The Faceplants

    Rock

The Faceplants have undergone quite a transformation over the last few years. Endless touring, songwriting, and recording have allowed them to grow into the supergroup that they are today.

The release of ‘Who I Am Inside’ in July 2017, the band showcased an energy and authenticity that has been missing in today’s musical climate. They are continuing that trend with the announcement of their latest single ‘UNHOLY’. After months of preparation, band members Dan Botch, Garret Ward, Graham MacKinnon, Paddy Spencer, and Chris Wong are starting 2018 with a statement.  ‘UNHOLY’ is that statement.

‘UNHOLY’ is a beautiful and dynamic musical journey, tastefully balancing a retro vibe, powerful groove, and modern production to create a timeless classic. The song’s lyrics paint a vivid picture of personal struggle using religious allegory and metaphor. Once the song kicks in, you instantly feel the undeniable passion and inspiration coming out of the speakers.

The Faceplants have completed recording for their forthcoming debut LP. Working with Vancouver-based producer/engineer Ben Kaplan (Mother Mother, Hedley, Biffy Clyro), the album is the culmination of three years of development and hard work. Currently, in post-production, the album is poised the be the breakout soundtrack of 2018.

The album is a concept record about perseverance, discovering one’s identity, and overcoming insecurities through a personal journey. It is a soundtrack for those carving their own path. The Faceplants’ goal is to touch every single person out there that is on their own journey and give a voice to those trying to find theirs.

Accompanying the single is a music video that was written and co-directed by The Faceplants lead singer and principal songwriter Dan Botch.

“This was the second time I had stepped into the role of ‘director’, and once again it was a creative challenge and unreal learning experience.  As the ‘creative director’ and lead visionary for the band, tackling all creative aspects is what makes me most comfortable.  I know how things should look, sound, and feel before they even hit the paper, speakers or computer screen, and what makes me most proud is when I bring that vision from a concept in my head, all the way to fruition.  Unlike directing the video for our last single (Who I Am Inside), this was a completely different experience.  We shot in the desert with conditions ranging from scorching to freezing.  We utilized natural light only.  We used a lot more props and details.  We learned from the last shoot and applied that knowledge to create this one.  And with this being the second time for me in this role, and it is a COMPLETELY different experience than the last video, the process only solidified my mindset and confidence.  We are 100% DIY.”

Having cut their teeth on the road from an early age, The Faceplants are true showmen. From filling the most popular venues in their hometown of Vancouver (The Rio, The Roxy, VENUE, & Tom Lee Music Hall), to touring the country half a dozen times in the last few years, their music leaves a lasting impression on whoever it reaches. Through this relentless work ethic, the band has been able to cultivate an organic following of dedicated followers.  Reaching out and interacting with these followers via social media is a massive priority for the band. Fans get an intimate look into the band's life during their bi-weekly video blog series on Facebook entitled ‘The Journey’. They document it all: going to the Grammy’s, crashing the Juno’s, working in the studio, or behind the scenes on the set of a music video. ‘The Journey’ is the fans view inside The Faceplants world, showcasing their process and personalities.

In addition to 'The Journey', by bringing fans into their day-to-day process on Snapchat and Instagram has allowed the relationship between the band and the fans to solidify. A small community is starting to build. A community of like-minded, passionate individuals, connecting through all social platforms. It is beyond the music.

With their powerful and unforgettable songs and sheer tenacity, The Faceplants are here to make a name for themselves.
