Nostalgia’s a tough thing to grab on to. It’s not so much something as the idea of something; it’s catching a glimpse outta the corner of your eye but when you turn to look at it it’s gone, or never was there at all.

Jackson Reed’s songs are nostalgia, and when you hear them you’re struck by reminders of elsewheres and befores, of summer’s past, and of love’s come & gone the same way. They send you somewhere but you can’t ever tell where exactly: maybe it’s the sounds of 1968 and you’re in Chicago or Buffalo or Detroit; maybe it’s the sounds of up north and it’s winter or it’s Wednesday or it’s yesterday afternoon.

Maybe it’s all of them and maybe it’s none but it doesn’t matter, cuz what you’re really hearing, after you go where you go and come back, is the sound of someone here and now: it is sometimes sunshine and sometimes rain, it is happy and it is sad, but it is
    Jackson Reed.

Jackson Reed is Canadian folk songwriter. His latest effort was recorded by Jonas Bonnetta (of Evening Hymns) at Port William Sound. The November Gales later won Best Album at the Northern Ontario Music and Film Awards in May 2017. In 2015, Jackson has toured Canada on banjo and guitar with Old Cabin + Bosveld. Throughout his career, he has shared the stage with artists like Aidan Knight, Fog Lake, The Wooden Sky and played at River & Sky Music Festival.

    Indie Rock

Blending a love of 90's alt-rock with modern indie sensibilities, Jiants is a Toronto-based foursome led by ex-pro skateboarder Jesse Landen. Landen is joined by Adam Kesek on bass, John Sirdevan on drums and the recently added Joe Delfin on lead guitar. Their self-titled debut was released in August 2016. NOW Magazine described the lead single "Paralyze" as a tune that will "transport you back to the best of 90s indie rock" while Paste Magazine called Jiants a "band to watch." Jiants' follow-up, Odd Trouble, was recorded in August 2017 at Candle Recording and produced by Landen and Taylor Knox. The album blends infectious riffs and melodic keyboard lines with Landen's sun-cracked vocals to capture a nostalgic sound you’ll remember from a time that maybe never was.

Odd Trouble will be released digitally and on vinyl on June 15th, 2018.

“Insanely grin-inducing…the Leeds four-piece’s shimmering, sun-kissed indie-pop is joyful, unadulterated fun… like the Beach Boys went to town on Paul Simon’s large stash of speed.”
    (Bang The Drum Magazine)

Marsicans are an emerging indie band from Leeds, England, comprised of a gang of four very different individuals: James, a Beatles-obsessed singer; Oli, an art student turned guitarist; Rob, a ‘bolder than your average’ bassist and Cale, a former samba band drummer. All long-time friends from school and Leeds’ music scene, the current line-up started sampling old synths, singing in harmony and writing songs together in 2014.

Marsicans’ earworm pop hooks, hectic gig schedule and growing reputation for exciting live shows quickly led to notable support slots (The Pigeon Detectives, Embrace, Catfish & The Bottlemen) and festival bookings (Kendal Calling, Reading & Leeds festivals). Recent releases have sold out their limited CD and vinyl runs and grabbed airplay on Radio 1, 6Music, Radio X, 3FM (Netherlands), BBC Introducing and Amazing Radio along with a sackful of positive coverage from the blogosphere.
