Join us at the JCCC for hands-on Ikebana workshops with the Ohara School in May 2026. Explore the rich history and guiding principles of the Ohara School, experience live demonstrations, and create your own arrangement to take home. Whether you are exploring Ikebana for the first time or considering formal studies with the Ohara School, this workshop series offers a welcoming and inspiring introduction.

Workshop Price:
Members - $45 + tax ($20 workshop + $25 floral materials)
Non-members - $60 + tax ($35 workshop + $25 floral materials)

Additonal costs for tools and equipment supplies are not included/supplied. The following items are required for this workshop!

Tools & Equipment:

Participants are responsible for bringing their own tools, and equipment for the workshop
  1. Ikebana scissors
  2. Kenzan* (pin frog holder) (preferred diameter about 7 cm, with 300-400 needles)
  3. Round container (preferred diameter about 8” with depth 2½ - 3”)
  4. Large water bucket (for transporting fresh materials home)
  5. Small water container (for cutting floral materials)
  6. Big towel (for covering table)
*A limited number of kenzans will be available for purchase
  • Kenzan ($30/Cash only) is available to purchase directly from the instructor on the day of workshop.
  • Kenzan ($55 plus tax) is available to purchase at JCCC giftshop.
