The Mad Caddies are one of California’s wildest performers of ska and punk. Their style incorporates New Orleans jazz and ragtime into their signature sound. They’ve remained an influence to hundreds of bands, all while still pushing their sound forwards. The band has been around for nearly two decades and have performed on over 5 Warped Tours, countless festivals, and even at Victoria’s 8th Annual Ska Festival with Neville Staple. It’s been far too long since the band has been to our island in the sun, and we’re excited to see what they have in store for us.
Vancouver’s Los Furios are bringing back their ska, punk, and latin sounds to the Ska Fest stage! This band has been a regional staple for over 10 years and have shared the stage with such notable acts as Chris Murray, The English Beat, and The Pietasters. Their high energy and passionate stage shows are like no other! Catch a glimpse of these guys and you’ll be hooked and dancing in no time.
Victoria-based Bocce Avocado take influences from hip-hop, funk, and global beats and produce experimental and highly danceable music that gets the audience moving. Though new in the local scene, this group of musicians are more than capable of delivering positive vibes through a bright mix of tunes that are sure to capture the love and adoration of the audience.
Portland, Oregon’s The Sentiments play soulful ska, reggae, and rocksteady. The group features members of Easy Big Fella, Cornerstone, and Franceska. The group has been lucky enough to play alongside such ska legends as The Slackers, The Melodians, and Fishbone. They’re sure to get the crowd moving on the dancefloor and make ska fans out of anyone in earshot. Be sure to check this group out, because they won’t be holding anything back!
