Though inspired by the shocking iconography of horror shows, slasher flicks, and psychological thrillers, Bonnie Trash (led by twin sisters Emmalia and Sarafina Bortolon-Vettor) turns cinematic tropes on their head. Rather than fashioning nightmares into reality, the band paints reality as a nightmare, rife with pain, suffering, and gothic theatre. Like their forebears Joy Division, Black Sabbath, or John Carpenter, Bonnie Trash understands that everyday atrocities haunt the periphery of our lives. A black cloud looming on the edge of our vision. Curses abound. You can’t ward them off. You’d best make an unholy racket.

Where their first full length, Malocchio, shrouded Bonnie Trash’s nightmares in dusky dreamlike reverb, Mourning You is vivid and immediate. Mourning You is less a post-mortem fantasia than a sudden, swift dagger to the heart. This is sorrow not as a lingering bruise, but a gushing wound.

Hailing from her native Los Angeles, Taleen Kali composes romantic punk songs wrapped in layers of shoegaze, psychedelia, & grunge, creating a cosmic sound that's dreamy & defiant alike. With fiery live sets & swirling sonics, Taleen & her band quickly became a fixture of the L.A. underground.  

Taleen Kali's first full-length "Flower Of Life" came out in 2023 produced by The Smashing Pumpkins' Jeff Schroeder & Josiah Mazzaschi (Child Seat, Bizou, Light FM), & recorded at The Cave, home to albums by The Jesus and Mary Chain, IDLES, & members of Slowdive, The Smiths, Lush, The Kills, & Warpaint. The title track debuted as the LP's 1st single on KEXP & "Crusher" premiered on KCRW with heavy airplay by Henry Rollins. The band played 2 full U.S. tours to support the album. In 2024 Taleen Kali released the "Flower of Death" remixes & the "Covered" EP came out this February ahead of SXSW.

Dual Nature formed in 2015 as a project of necessity for five long-time friends. After messing about in garage rock territory for several years and releasing an EP with Double Lunch Records, the Edmonton-based band began incorporating post-punk influences into their sound. This experimentation culminated in their first full-length, The End of History, in April 2022. 

The group’s 2025 EP, Content, retains the sorrowful, doomsday atmosphere traversed on The End of History, while drawing further inspiration from the ceaseless sonic brutality of noise rock acts such as The Jesus Lizard and Metz. Communicated via pummeling drums, piercing guitars, gritty, muscular bass, and manic, snarling vocals, the result is a violently cathartic synthesis of despair and rage.

Pop Pop Vernac plays a twisted form of rock and roll that materializes in bouts of unrest. They’ve toured the Canadian prairies, and played with Ancient Shapes, Wares, Status/Non-Status, Rats Ass, Look Vibrant, Ten Foot Pole, and more. All four members write and sing, occasionally trading instruments and songs. They’ve delivered 5 releases touching on lovely, crooned melodies, wistful witticisms, and lightning fast rhythms pulsating behind visceral shouts. Someone once said they were “raw and exciting”.
