Cherry Pick is a Vancouver, BC–based project making loud-quiet-loud rock rooted in shoegaze and grunge. Built on blown-out guitars and soft, intimate vocals, their music leans into contrast and restraint. It’s an old, familiar formula—played loud, played soft, and meant to be felt.

Born out of the streets of Tehran, Iran, artist Homa Khoshnavaz created her idea for Gadfly while locked away in her bedroom. Stewing in angst and misery due to the brutal treatment of women in her country, she created a strained sound by mixing her love of grunge and metal with traditional Persian scale work. After she finally got herself to Vancouver, Canada in winter 2018 she quickly assembled a band to help her flesh out the sounds she wanted to create. Her efforts culminated in the release of the debut album “Apranik” in Dec 2022 which was received to much local acclaim. Never fully satisfied, Homa along with her main collaborator Nigel Young and bass player Raine Menard continue their reign of terror as they constantly try to push their high energy, sold out performances and never let go of the idea of women, life, freedom.

Sweet nothings in so-called Vancouver. Noisy, candy-coated, and fearless. Like getting punched in the face and then kissed on the cheek.

Still Depths is a Vancouver-based music project formed in Calgary in 2019. Their sound swerves from hardcore chaos and heavy industrial thrashing, to frenetic noise improvisation and groove-driven post-punk. A Still Depths performance is unpredictable, fusing noise-driven guitars, pounding electronic rhythms, frantic drumming, angular vocals, and live sampling.

Fishlips is a group of 3 freaks from a hick town with chips on their shoulders. They like loud music, acting eraticly, and pretending they can play music. They hate the government, capitalism, and the misogynistic landscape of the hard rock scene. Their songs consist of droning riffs and introspective lyrics followed by loud screaming and cymbals so you pay attention and don’t fall asleep.
