Chicago Transit: A Tribute to the Band Chicago Like No Other
Long before tribute bands became a trend, Powerhouse blazed a trail in the early 1990s with their tribute to the iconic band Chicago. Their show, Chicago Transit, was the first-ever Chicago tribute act in the world — and remains today the longest-running tribute to Chicago, with a legacy spanning over 25 years.
What truly sets Chicago Transit apart is their unique vocal arrangement — four lead vocalists, just like the original band Chicago, something no other tribute act replicates. Backed by five powerhouse singers, a three-piece horn section, and a five-piece rhythm section, the band delivers an authentic and dynamic performance that captures the spirit and sound of Chicago.
In fact, their tribute was so spot-on that even members of Chicago acknowledged and praised the group back in the '90s.
Based in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada, Chicago Transit has brought their high-energy show to festivals, theatres, casinos, and other venues from the Gatineau Hills of Quebec to the Midwest USA — even performing in Chicago, Illinois, the birthplace of the legendary band they celebrate.
Their expansive repertoire covers the full spectrum of Chicago’s music — from the brassy, horn-driven classics like "Make Me Smile", "25 or 6 to 4", and "Saturday in the Park", to the smoother, ballad-style hits like "If You Leave Me Now".
If you love Chicago, you’ll love Chicago Transit.
