Returning to our stage for this grooviest of nights is one of Canada's hottest rappers DEF3, who will be backed by Vancouver's DJ KEMO. Def3 has long been established as a true keeper of hip-hop culture – not only is he an MC but he is also a renowned graffiti artist – who has continuously forged new bonds betweens old-school, conscious hip-hop and the high energy of big-bass electronic music, creating a wholly new lane for himself in the modern music landscape. Def3 has always brings big rhymes and serious flow when he's got the mic in his hand and every time he shows up on our stage manages to turn it up another notch. We're not expecting anything different when he returns to party with us this time. Joining Frase and Def3 is one of the strongest, most unique groove acts in Victoria, Blasé Blasé. A stunningly groovy melding of live instruments, tight electronic production, soulful vocals and elastic raps, Blasé Blasé has quickly become a Ska & Reggae Society favourite with certified fresh performances on our livestreams and this years Garden City Grooves – where they lit the stage up before Fort Knox Five. Come join us in getting down to this incredible lineup for Night 2 of Victoria's 23rd Annual Ska & Reggae Festival. Holding it down on the 1s and 2s between sets is one of Vancouver Island's most revered and skilled turntable wizards, DJ ALL GOOD. Through his incredible work building community with his Turntemple travelling-DJ setup and his award-winning scratch performances, DJ Allgood is rightfully one of the most party-rockers to have ever graced the Island. A perfect fit for a serious party.

FRASE
Frase has captivated fans around the world for the past decade, with his soulful vocal stylings and a sound
that’s unapologetically pushing towards the future. His buttery rasp and high end productions marry
beautifully to grooves that soothe. His works are danceable yet musical, charged with potent messages
and heartfelt stories about how he navigates the world through themes of self- actualization,
responsibility, environmental consciousness & human rights advocacy.
His voice and magnetic stage presence have allowed his appeal to grow worldwide organically one show
at a time. Just as much at home behind a piano and a mic, as he is at the helm of the dance floor, his
numerous collaborations and musical output highlight his nimble ability to have a soul, a mind and a
really good time all at the same junction.
Live, FRASE sings, plays guitar, keys and bass, all the while DJ'ing with his own productions. He’s been
lighting up crowds at world-class music festivals such as Bass Coast, Kaslo Jazz, Shambhala, Pop
Montreal, Canadian Music Week, Skeleton Park, Cumberland Wild and Tiny Lights. Prior to the last short
while, FRASE toured non-stop all over Canada as well as Italy, Germany, and India.
FAWNA
FAWNA is the solo project of Canadian singer/songwriter Jenna Deagle-Potter. Rooted in her passion for
R&B, Jazz & Electronica, FAWNA reels you in with a refreshing vocal soundscape of sultry chill-hop
vibes. With two EP’s and several releases under her belt, she continues to make her mark creating
music and touring across Canada.
Starting out, Jenna sang in an array of different bands in the Halifax indie scene. Searching for new
opportunities, she left for Montreal in 2013 to start her solo career and finish her Intermedia/Cyberarts
degree. Jenna was quickly immersed into the Montreal music scene performing around the city and
working with other local artists. The FAWNA project materialized out of Jenna’s urge to make something
her own, merging together her love for music and video.
Her first EP titled ‘Vol.1’ dropped in October 2016 with the single ‘Take It Or Leave It’, which was
released with a music video that she directed and edited herself. In 2019 she released “CLEAR”, an R&B
infused collaborative EP with Brooklyn producer Cobrayama. Since then FAWNA has collaborated with a
variety of producers and musicians worldwide, most recently with FRASE, Illa J, and Atamone.
Touring Eastern Canada as a solo artist with performances at Evolve and Future Forest Festival for 3
summers in a row, several performances in Montreal, and a recent stage appearance in Kelowna, BC -
FAWNA is working on multiple collaborations, her Vol. 2 solo EP, and planning her Canadian tour for
Summer 2022. -
