On the trail of their recently-released debut 'CL. 1' album, Brooklyn post-punk / alternative rock outfit CLONE present the timely single 'Immutable', a powerful anthem for the ordinary people who form the backbone of our society.
Delving deep into the ongoing, persistent struggle between the vast majority of people and a small, elite class, Clone explores how wealth and power are systematically extracted from the masses. A passionate call to action, 'Immutable' demands immediate attention to the pressing political and economic issues facing our world.
"This song is about us. The 99% that is working to keep it all moving forward. The history of the poor has never truly been told. 'Immutable' is the story of the 99% and how the 1% take it all from the masses," says frontman LG Galleon.
Released via Portland label Little Cloud Records and North Carolina's 5BC Records, this is an album born from a seemingly lost wellspring of shared imagination and a youthful transformative power. Earlier, the band shared iconoclastic singles 'Dividing Line' and 'Redeemer', each of them packed with their own dose of firepowder.
Recorded and mixed by NYC legendary producer Martin Bisi (Sonic Youth, Swans, Brian Eno, John Zorn, Herbie Hancock, Iggy Pop, Helmet, Dresden Dolls) at his famed BC Studio (which was built by Brian Eno), 'CL.1' is a truly impressive debut album. Produced by LG Galleon and Bisi, this record was mastered by Fred Kevorkian (The White Stripes, Sonic Youth, Juliana Hatfield, Pharaoh Sanders, Regina Spektor, Cassandra Wilson, Lloyd Cole).
"Clone taps into the heavy angular energy of Sonic Youth and Gang of Four, with some of the same fiery political leanings as the latter. The combination of post-punk passion and shoegaze textures adds an equally captivating and welcome emotional weight to each of the album’s ten tracks" ~ Post-Punk.com
"Smashing earworm, Clone ignites a firestorm of sonic pleasure - enthralled and fascinated with its sonic impression, emotional turbulence and convincing delivery" ~ The Spill Magazine
"It’s hard to think of a download that has moved me more than CL.1... with its sense of redemption rolling in over the horizon like a storm of joy and revelation... with undying belief in the power of what’s possible" ~ Stereo Embers Magazine
"Highly Urgent Political Rock" ~ Destroy // Exist
"A monument to what seems like a dying art form, Clone emerges from the streets of Brooklyn—streets that have been fertile ground for underground music for decades—to remind us of what a band can truly be in an age of digitization, pre-fabrication, and superficiality" ~ IdioteqOn the trail of their recently-released debut 'CL. 1' album, Brooklyn post-punk / alternative rock outfit CLONE present the timely single 'Immutable', a powerful anthem for the ordinary people who form the backbone of our society.
