This is the first Maqueque show in Toronto in more that 3 years. Starting out as a project to support excellent young Cuban female players and composers, this dynamic cooperative has became one of the top jazz groups touring today according to Downbeat Magazine's Critics Poll. Multiple tours in the US, Europe and Juno wins and a Grammy Nomination have propelled Maqueque to one of the top tier jazz bands playing today.
