L.A. Witch
L.A. Witch
Alternative Rock
L.A. Witch have always exuded an aura of effortless cool, whether it manifested as the Americana noir and laconic back-to-basics rock n’ roll of their self-titled debut or the blistering austere adventurism of their sophomore album Play With Fire. The band—comprised of Sade Sanchez (guitar/vocals), Irita Pai (bass), and Ellie English (drums)—began as an informal affair, but the sultry and beguiling reverb-draped songs they created caught on with the public. On their latest album, DOGGOD, the trio push their craft beyond their previous creative and geographical confines, opting to craft the material in Paris, recording the tracks at Motorbass Studio on the Rue de Martyrs. DOGGOD explores broader swaths of sonic terrain, employs a greater arsenal of tones, and probes larger existential and cosmic themes, all while retaining the band’s signature sense of the forbidden, the forsaken, and the foreboding.

Tebby & the Heavy
Tebby & the Heavy
Post-Punk
Tebby & The Heavy crash-landed onto the Canadian rock scene in the summer of 2022, bringing a sound that’s equal parts hypnotic and ferocious. Hailing from Edmonton, this trio brews a sonic cocktail of shoegaze haze, psychedelic swirls, grunge grit, and surfy mischief—like a dream that blurs the line between euphoria and chaos.
Live, they’re impossible to ignore. Their guitar tones bend reality with waves of delay and modulation, while the bass and drums hit with a moody, gut-punching force. Ethereal one moment, unhinged the next, their music proves that alternative rock still has plenty of new tricks up its sleeve.
They’ve shared stages with Osees, L.A. Witch, Ringo Deathstarr, and more, making noise at Sled Island, Purple City, and beyond. With five singles out and a debut album dropping in 2025, Tebby & The Heavy are only getting louder.

Uncanny Valley
Uncanny Valley
Alternative Rock
Specters of ‘80s goth and post-punk haunt Uncanny Valley. The band’s sound is punctuated by cold-wave synths, supported by velvety basslines, and accented by an unearthly blend of live and mechanical drumming. These haunting goth lullabies are powered by the past as they thrillingly push forwards into the future. - Sled Island 2024

Post-Punk
There’s veteran pedigree behind Sub / / Cell, Calgary’s new garage rock monster. Featuring members of Window Lamp, Parisian Orgy, Lushings and Cheer, this supergroup’s swampy approach to post-punk owes as much to The Jesus and Mary Chain as it does to imagined prairie surf vibes, throwing reverb and melodic hooks around to reel listeners in.
