Ritual T.O. is comprised of six black metal legends who rarely or never play North America. This is an exclusive, one-off show and potentially the only chance Canadians could have to see some of these bands.
Batushka is a Polish black metal band based in Białystok founded by Krzysztof Drabikowski in 2015. Their music and lyrics, which are written exclusively in Church Slavonic language, are inspired by the Eastern Orthodox Church. The band was recently reclaimed by Drabikowski from a former member who used the name against his consent. This is their first-ever canadian performance.
Archgoat is a Finnish black and death metal band formed in 1989 by twin brothers Ritual Butcherer on guitar and Lord Angelslayer. They are one of Finland's first black metal bands. The members of Archgoat identify with the philosophy of Satanism and the occult as expressed in their lyrical content, which also consists of anti-Christian themes.
Taake is a Norwegian black metal band from Bergen, formed in 1993 and originally named Thule. The band's one continuous member is Hoest, who writes all and records most of the music. The band describes itself as "True Norwegian black metal", All lyrics are in Hoest's native dialect and are printed in Norse runes.Taake is the old spelling of the Norwegian word tåke, meaning "fog".
Havukruunu is a Finnish pagan black metal band Originally formed as Talvikuu. In Finnish, talvikuu translates to "winter moon", and havukruunu means a "crown made from the needle-bearing branches of a coniferous tree". Havukruunu is the spirit of freedom, harbinger of oblivion, and it tells you: FLY, YOU FOOLS!
