THE ACTION  THE ACTION is part of Punk Rock history as the first punk band in Canada. They toured with THE RAMONES and opened for the North American debut of The Stranglers pioneering punk in Canada and they were the only punk band that toured with a major US act at the time. The Action garnered more press in one year than most self-respecting punk bands get in a lifetime and frontman TED AXE became known as an entertaining powerful vocalist with an unbeatable stage show. The Action released their self-titled EP on Montreco Records in 1978 containing their hit "TV's On The Blink" and then in true punk tradition self-destructed. They reformed in 2009 re-releasing their original Ep in Europe on Rave Up and a live compilation album on DOA's Joey Shithead's Sudden Death Records but after showcases in The US and Canada,the band members went their separate ways again. The Action have been on ice for the last 16 years but they are back and are kicking off their 50th Anniversary Tour at The Dominion Tavern in Ottawa on Sept 12th where they previously sold out two nights back to back.
