TootArd–the funky, retro, quarter tone pop duo from the majestic mountains of Syria’s Golan heights–will be playing their first gig of their Canada Tour in Vancouver on September 7th! On the heels of their World Tour and following shows in Japan and South Korea, Tootard’s next stop brings them to YVR’s Fortune Sound Club.
TootArd’s creative tunes deftly fuse Levant-tinted desert blues, melodic psych-rock, and morphed reggae, popping percussions, and silky synthesizers into an amalgam of electronic ecstasy. The “Morning Star” describes TootArd as “stirringly authentic, intelligent, and culturally affirming,” and the Financial Times calls the Nakhleh brothers’ music “a love letter to the PSR-62 Oriental,” the synthesizer that popularized 1980’s glittering party vibes.
Centaur Productions, MENA Film Festival and MARSM Canada are thrilled to be bringing the trailblazing duo who will perform their inventive funky, retro, quarter tone pop sounds for the first time on Canada’s West Coast.
