Big Sugar was an iron man test of musical endurance set against a backdrop of personal turmoil and creative pressure in the 1990s. The cultural experiment of Detroit blues meets Detroit Rock City meets Kingston Ghetto recipe became a force that burned like a vacant inner-city house fire. The unlikely success of the Roots Rock Reggae crew in Hugo Boss suits during the height of “grunge” bought the creative freedom to drive on.
