Rock & Roll Triple Dip Featuring Mensa Dropout, Indiana Drones & The Turbos
-
Toronto DIY Grunge Punk Super Group Mensa Dropout was re-united by an out of the blue email request to soundtrack a compilation video for global underwater YouTube fingerboard sensation SkatepunxFB.
Consisting of the explosive talents of four prominent Canadian bands:
Ash Buchholz - USS (guitar/vocals), Tokyo Speirs - Walk of the Earth (drums), Stephany Seki - A Primitive Evolution [APE] (bass/vocals) and Brett Carruthers - The Birthday Massacre/APE (lead guitar)
Mensa Dropouts' primary goal is to sonically marry hyperdynamic melody with uninhibited joy and terrifying beauty to prove to themselves (and the world) that it's never too late for dropouts to drop back in.

Indiana Drones is an Ontario-based alt-rock band weaving vintage tones with modern edge. Led by Justin Zuccato, their sound is cinematic and raw - equal parts heartache and adrenaline. After that, it’s all instinct: moody guitars, widescreen melodies, and lyrics that feel like postcards from a movie you’ve lived through.

The Turbos are the best rock and roll bowling band in Canadian history. Who cares if that’s true? What’s important is that the night they were kicked out and banned from their local alley for sneaking in tall cans of Old Style Pilsner for the fifth time, they now had no plans on Tuesday nights.
So they did what any logical adult would do- they started a band. Think 1963 Beatles. Think 1994 Oasis. Think 1996 Weezer. Think 2001 White Stripes. Sounds like the ingredients for the Best Rock and Roll Bowling Band in Canadian history doesn’t it? Still not convinced ? Then come to their debut performance with The Indiana Drones and Mensa Dropout at The Dance Cave Sunday July 27th in Toronto and find out for yourself. Be there or be spare.
