Description
ABOUT THE SHOW Whether he is in the institute or not Toronto based music artist James Clark is a doctor of pop. His prescription is simple, three minute blasts of medicinal music. Producer Moe Berg adds, “James takes the power pop traditions of The Beatles, Jellyfish and Split Enz and combines them with the high IQ lyrics of Elvis Costello and Joe Jackson. The result makes him one of Canada's greatest unsung songwriters”. The latest JCI album, “Under The Lampshade” received a rave 4 star review in the December 2023 issue of the UK’s Shindig Magazine while the 3 singles from the album (“A Kinder You”; “Phantom Girl”; “Whatever O’ Clock In The Morning”) have charted on indie stations across North America and the UK. Phantom Girl (youtube.com) Whatever O' Clock In The Morning (youtube.com) A Kinder You (youtube.com) Toronto’s high energy Male Order Brides (est. 1991) kicks the night off with their jangly, spirited ‘90’s influenced originals. *El Mocambo is a fully accessible venue* 19+ Only
